There’s something about travelling by train that just feels right. Maybe it’s the way you see the land slowly shift as you move from one place to the next, or the quiet rhythm of watching the world go by from your window. I’ve done a fair bit of long-distance train travel over the years – growing up with regular journeys from Brussels across France, Austria and Germany – and it’s always felt like the best way to really get under the skin of a place.
